Life Won „t Wait, das vierte Album der Band, wurde am 30. Juni 1998 veröffentlicht und war das letzte Rancid-Album, das 16 Jahre lang über Epitaph Records veröffentlicht wurde, bis Honor Is All We Know (2014). Nach der Veröffentlichung wechselte die Band zum Label von Frontmann Tim Armstrong (einem Unterlabel von Epitaph), Hellcat Records. Obwohl das Album nicht so erfolgreich war wie ...And Out Come the Wolves, erreichte es Platz 35 der Billboard 200 Album Charts und war damit eines der bestplatzierten Alben von Rancid überhaupt.
