Products description

For the 30th anniversary of the Rebellion in Blackpool, the Düsseldorf punk rock band DEAD DATES is playing.
In line with this, the band is releasing a strictly limited 12-inch vinyl EP with 3 English songs at 45 RPM:

The title track “Blackpool” is a punchy '77 punk rock anthem with a big sing-along and sounds very British.
The unofficial Blackpool anthem is not only about the festival and its organizer Darren Russell-Smith, but also emotionally describes the city, which has seen better days.

The second song, “Stand up,” is meant to remind that punk rock, Oi, and rock 'n' roll are not music for assholes like voters of the German “AfD,” the English “Reform UK,” the French “Rassemblement National,” the Dutch “Partij voor de Vrijheid,” or the American “MAGA movement.” Punk rock has always been about standing up against racism, nationalism, sexism, and for freedom and protecting the weaker.

"Stand up" is meant as a tribute to Angelic Upstarts, Chelsea, Sham 69, and other bands that have always taken a clear stand on this matter. Racists and other idiots have no place with us. Whether at Rebellion or anywhere else. The third song, "Clark Kent," is about the feeling that as an individual, but also as humanity, we never really learn anything. The lyrics are meant to be heard and understood with a wink, and they deliberately use Superman's 'real-life' alter ego for that reason.
